Damnoen Saduak floating market is the most popular floating market located 90 km and 2 hours by car from Bangkok. Damnoen Saduak Canal, the name given to King Rama V was the longest dugout in the country. At the beginning of the reign of King Rama IV, more than a hundred year ago, it was planned to dig a canal connecting the Mae Klong River and the Tha Chin River. For the benefit of transportation and trade, Damnoen Saduak Canal, takes about 2 years to excavate from the end of the reign of King Rama IV. The reign of King Rama V is about 32 km long, with a little further about 200 canals floating Damnoen Saduak. In 1971-1973, the floating market of the canal was a very prosperous. Trade with fun. Today, there are tourists, but most are foreigners are interested to see the water trade and old village life dated to the past.
